Music...

Is a huge part of my life. My dad is a musician. I'm a musician. My mom sings. It's a thing. So it's no surprise that I need to be listening to music for most of my day-job workday. Thankfully things like Pandora and Spotify exist because otherwise I'd spend my whole paycheck on iTunes.

That being said. Pandora is playing a game with me today. First it played a song from an album of Frank Sinatra covers done by WESTLIFE (I'm yelling this part).  Now, maybe I was the only 16 year old traipsing around Europe on a band trip listening to Westlife and you're wondering who they hell they are. This is who they are:

Westlife.
Also Westlife.

So apparently they branch out.

Also on the Pandora block today, while listening to my Ella Fitzgerald station, these 2 artists played:

Cheers to my overuse of screen shots.

I had no idea John Mayer and Jamiroquai had so much in common with Ella Fitzgerald, let alone each other. Learn something new everyday I guess.

Also, you better believe that after I went googling for Swear It Again by Westlife I listened to it while typing this entire post. You're welcome.
The Absolute Worst Thing...

House Hunters IS FAKE?

Well YEAH. But if you're really watching House Hunters and believe that people only look at 3 houses before they decide to go into massive debt for something that may or may not give them monetary gain in return, you're a dummy. Sorry if that's harsh. But...you are.

House Hunters is my favorite obsession. Not because I enjoy the thrill of watching people buy houses. That's boring.

I enjoy looking at houses in different parts of the world and judging the people who are looking at them. I also enjoy playing a drinking game called "This closet is so big, but where are your clothes going to go honey?"  This is a game where you take a shot every time someone says, "This closet is so big, but where are your clothes going to go honey?" or the other popular variation, "This closet is so big, but where are MY clothes going to go honey?" followed by merry laughter. You'll take a total of 3 shots per episode, unless it's one of those weird ones where they look at an empty lot instead of a house.

Say you need more reasons to watch? I have some handy:

Dogs like this one.

People who name babies things like "Frost."

If you're reading a blog post or article about it being fake, just stop. There is a more important article you should be reading here.

Today I Learned...

How to ride a bike. You read that correctly. Riding a bike was something I didn't know how to do.

Now I know how to do it. Not very well. And can't do it for longer than about one full pedal circle (there's a proper name for that right?).

Me on a bike. My friend Lindsey to the side. Fro-yo truck in the background.

I did something awesome today. I've earned some ice cream. Or hummus. Or hummus ice cream.

Whole Foods..

Not the store. In the past 6 months I've begun eating more whole foods than normal. Whole foods are foods that are real food. Veggies, fruit, meats that aren't processed* and all organic if my wallet allows. I think it's important. I think that processed foods are the devil and the devil should only be enjoyed in small amounts (read: Christmas, birthdays and Sunday nights).

Whole foods made by me in my home. Yes, that's a sweet potato.
Any whole food centered article or book out there talks about the benefits (which are great) and the importance it plays in us not getting things like cancer and skin rashes. I agreed with all of these things.

BUT

(you knew there was a but) I am having one issue I didn't expect. Most of these books say that if you eat processed foods you eat more because they don't make you feel full and when you eat whole foods, you feel fuller and eat less. For me, this is not the case.

Me eating not whole foods on what could only have been a Sunday.

I just don't understand.  Take for example yesterday. I ate a healthy lunch of quinoa, black beans, and veggies with a tiny bit of olive oil from sauteing the garlic and onions.  It was a good 2 cups cooked/combined of these things. I ate it. Ah. Delicious. I finished eating lunch around 1pm. At approximately 1:15pm my tummy began growling.

Why.

I say why but the truth is I don't care what the answer is because I'll continue to eat healthier and moderate my pizza intake no matter what. I just don't understand why after almost half a year...I'm still hungry 15 minutes later.  I know I exercise very frequently and I know my insides are probably a more than a little messed up from my middle school diet of Watchamacalits, Nacho Cheese Doritos and Mr. Pibb.  I know this.  But still...you would think lots of veggies and whole grains would keep me feeling full for longer that 15 minutes.

*I include meat in this. Some people don't. Those people eat more legumes than I do.

Found: My name in cement. This can only be a sign of my impending fame.
